Common complications and their managements after penoscrotal hypospadias repairs: comparison of one-stage and staged repairs

Objectives: Surgical repair of hypospadias is challenging and the risk complications high, even for most experienced specialists. In this study, we aim to present our experience with management common postoperative in patients who underwent proximal repair. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed data surgery between December 2011 February 2021. Patients were repaired single staged methods divided into two groups. Treatment including wound dehiscence, fistula, stricture diverticulum examined results noted statistically compared. Results: Forty-four patients, a mean age 34 months at first reviewed, 17 whom single-stage 27 staged. Except patient Onlay island flap urethroplasty, long TIPU was used all single-session repairs, Byar's Bracka 19 8 group, respectively. The overall complication rate 34% follow-up 41 months, 18% repair, 44% Glans urethrocutaneous urethral stricture, diverticula seen 2 (4%), 4 (9%), All glans dehiscence fistulae along distal treated Mathieu urethroplasty. Two short strictures relieved by session dilation. Diverticula successfully treated, no recurrence developed. Conclusions: higher due hypospadias, urethroplasty defective penile tissue. Hypoplasic glandular urethra, neourethra devoid spongiosum appear be related complications. Despite more encountered, repairs have been shown appropriate techniques.
